Emery got his first goose egg tonight. And it's a doozy! Poor kid! I feel so bad for him every time I look at his forehead! Just in time for his birthday, his party, and all the photos we'll be taking of him...grrrreat! :) It's ok, we'll survive!
How'd it happen? Well, we went to Portrait Innovations tonight to get the $9.95 package deal like we've done every three months since he's been born. Even though we got professional photos taken of him for his birthday we wanted to get these because it's a lot of prints for a small price! While the photographer was taking his photos, we put him on a chair to get some shots and just as she was about to take his picture he decides to dive head first off the chair and smacked straight onto the hard floor. It was like slow motion. Patrick and I both saw it coming but I couldn't move fast enough to get there to catch him. Of course the place was packed with people and of course, Emery wailed. The crying didn't last too long though, we walked over to the water fountain and "got a drink" to distract him and that stopped him from thinking about his head. The photographer felt so bad. She got him some cold paper towels, which he wanted to suck on more than put put on his boo boo. We decided the photo taking needed to end after the fall but all in all we still ended up with a good shot:
