- Waving (all the time!) Hello and Goodbye. He waves when Daddy comes home from work, when I drop him off at daycare, and he even waved at me this morning when I came to get him out of his crib! Ha!
- Clapping. He loves playing Pat-A-Cake, especially the "roll it" part!
- Dancing. Patrick got a Michael Jackson Number 1's DVD for his birthday. Emery loves it. He crawls up to the entertainment center, stands right in front of the tv and starts shaking his booty! I fear we have another music lover in our house, but that is quite alright with both of us!
- Peek-A-Boo. He's been doing this for a long time, but in the past weeks he's started putting the blanket over his own head and pulling it down so we say "Peek-A-Boo!" Then he giggles!
- Shutting/Opening doors. We got this one on video last night. He crawls to the bedroom or bathroom door, shuts it (without latching it), and then opens it over and over.
- Opening the toilet lid. Not the greatest thing he's learned recently, but he learned it nonetheless! He opened it, looked inside, shut it, and would have kept doing it if I allowed him!
I'm still waiting on him to say Mama. He only says it when he's frustrated or crying about something. His favorite phrase is "Dada or Dad"...I just can't figure that one out ;) He is also getting closer to standing on his own, but doesn't have that balance thing figured out yet. He'll stand for just a split second then when we try to get him to do it again he suddenly has spaghetti legs and won't stand at all! :) He also still has a toothless grin...but a cute one, at that! No teeth yet but no cause for concern. In fact, Dr. Coats told me at his 9 month appointment that you shouldn't be concerned about babies getting teeth until they are almost 2 years old!
We are looking forward to Emery's first Thanksgiving this week. We are going to Osage Wednesday night and staying Thursday and coming back that night. It will be a short trip, but Patrick has to work on Friday morning. He has the weekend off so we plan to spend the weekend as a family and put up our Christmas lights and Christmas decorations.
Happy Thanksgiving week! We are thankful for all of you!
