Length at Birth: 20 inches

Weight at Birth: 9 lbs 14.6 oz

Height at 12 months: 29 3/4 inches

Weight at 12 months: 23 lbs 1 oz

Head Circumference at 12 months: 18 3/4 inches

Percentiles: 71st for height, 80th for weight, 97th for head

At her doctor's appointment last week, Dr. Coats said she's very healthy and growing great. There were no concerns at all! We did discuss her lack of interest in crawling and walking, and Dr. Coats said she's spending so much time trying to learn new knowledge (words, fine motor skills, etc) that she is just choosing that over larger physical things. She had to get a few shots and cried for a few short minutes but recovered quickly. So thankful she's been such a healthy baby!!

How much/how often are they eating: 3 meals a day, 1 snack a day, and nursing first thing in the morning and right before bed.

Favorite foods: She eats pretty much anything. She loves her "nanas," ground hamburger, yogurt, strawberries, cheese, chicken, and noodles.

How many teeth: NONE! But her bottom two are just about to pop through!

Walking?: Not even close! As of her first birthday, she still just army crawled and rolled everywhere. She would do a couple strides of regular crawling but then she'd just plop onto her belly and army crawl instead. I've accepted the fact that she'll probably be 18-19 months before she's walking. It keeps her my baby longer and I am perfectly fine with that! *As of Mother's Day (age 1 year, 1 week, and 1 day) she started crawling!

Talking?: Yes. She says mama, dada, daddy, Ett ee (Emery), nana (banana), Ret (Red, and all dogs), Hi, Buh bye, bubble, ite (light), da? (what's that?), eyes (while she points to her eyes or someone elses), duh (duck), bay bee (baby), wah wah (water), signs "more," and last night she said air plan (air plane) for the first time). She definitely tries to mimic most things we say.

Favorite words: Nana (every time we go in the kitchen she yells for a banana!) and Ret (Red)...she loves Red!!

Favorite toys: Loves her sing along stage & microphone, board books, anything she can open and close and put things in, cell phones

Size of clothes they are wearing: 24 month

Size of diapers: One size & Medium cloth, and size 4 disposable (I've only purchased 4 packages of disposable diapers this whole year!!)

Funny nicknames: Baby Elle, Sweet girl, Elle Belle, Miss Elle, Love Bug, Chicken nugget, Goob, Baby girl

Elle has been a wonderful baby. If I could have another baby just like her, I'd be on it in a heartbeat. She's so sweet and cuddly, loving, and patient. Boy is she patient! The only time she ever fusses is when she's hungry (or if you take your cell phone from her!). I have always loved her big chunky cheeks, her giggle and smile. She really just lights up my life so much. I didn't think I'd want a girl but I cannot imagine my life without her in it. She loves to observe the world, try to say new words, and thinks her brother and daddy are so funny. She and Red are great buddies and she'll often crawl over to him so she can pet him. She has a thing for cell phones--pushing buttons and pretend "talking" on the phone are quite fun for her. She's recently started crying when I drop her off at daycare and it breaks my heart, but her provider has said she recovers quickly. She always wants to be the one to push the garage door button when we get home and when she does she wiggles in excitement like a fish out of water! It's too cute. She likes to sing and dance just like her brother and we often have music on in the house so they can "rock out" together. She loves giving kisses and will pull your shirt and lean in to get a smooch. Life is so much better with her in our family. Hard to believe she's not a baby anymore!
