I like to keep these stats after each doctor's appointment because it's a great way for me to record what Emery has been doing at each stage of infanthood and toddlerhood! It's so neat to watch his progress as he gets older. Enjoy!
Length at Birth: 19 inches
Weight at Birth: 8 lbs 4 oz
Height at 2 years: 34 inches
Weight at 2 years: 25 lbs 13 oz
Percentile: 26th (He's our little peanut! But very healthy at least!)
Favorite foods: FRUIT. This kid lives for fruit, especially grapes, apples, fresh pineapple and strawberries. If he has the choice, he chooses fruit as dessert over cookies, cake, etc. Mac & cheese, cheeseburgers, meatloaf, chicken nuggets, dipping anything in ketchup, cereal, yogurt, peas, french fries, raisins, ice cream, Eggo waffles, pancakes & scrambled eggs, sloppy joes
How many teeth: 14 (still needs to get the 2 bottom canines and all 4 second molars)
Hours of sleep they get per day/naps: Goes to bed at 8 pm and wakes between 7:30 and 8:30 am every morning. Takes one nap per day, usually goes down at 1 pm and sleeps 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
In a crib or bed?: Toddler Bed since Christmas (23 months)
Highchair or Booster seat?: Just moved up to his booster seat over his birthday weekend and he's doing awesome!
Favorite toys: T-ball set, basketball goal, soccer ball, Thomas the train, play food & kitchen set, shape sorter, matching card game, puzzles, race cars/monster trucks, play animals & dinosaurs, books
Favorite TV shows/characters: Dinosaur Train, Word World, Yo Gabba Gabba, Sesame Street, Super Why, Charlie & Lola. He still likes Elmo but doesn't really obsess over him anymore.
Favorite Movie: Toy Story 3...he probably could watch it every single day if I let him! He loves Woody.
Favorite Place: Going to the zoo. He really enjoys seeing all the animals! We're lucky it's so close to our house and we have a membership (Thanks Grandma Sue and Grandpa Willie...it's awesome!
Favorite item or "lovey": Ranger, his little stuffed manatee that we bought for him when we were on our anniversary trip in Dallas. He sleeps with Ranger every night. He's also pretty connected to any sort of ball, usually a baseball.
Favorite color:Blue! Brown comes in a close second.
Favorite book: At the moment it's "Baa Baa Bedtime" he also really like Curious George books right now, too. He calls him "Monkey George."
Favorite "naughty" things to do: Tell us "I don't want to!!" and storm off like he owns the world! LOL. Say "MINE!" when he doesn't want to take turns with toys.
Favorite "fun" things to do: He loves giving eskimo kisses, is the best snuggler (loves cuddling), and it melts my heart when he says "Mommy, I hold you!" (which means, Mommy, hold me!). He also loves to help me bake, help daddy unload the dishwasher, and he LOVES to take baths. He got a piggy bank for his birthday and since then he asks Daddy "Monies for piggy bank, Daddy, please!" Good thing Emery is happy with pennies or Daddy is going to be broke soon! If it was nice outside every day he would be outside playing every day. He lives for the outdoors and loves to investigate things outside. He is in to driving his cars, trucks, and trains all around and especially likes it when someone else plays with him so the cars can crash and "beep beep" at each other. Dancing with Daddy is a favorite past time and reading books, coloring and playing play dough with Mommy is also really fun. Of course it goes without saying that his favorite thing to play is any sport...baseball, basketball, soccer, or football...he loves them all and is pretty darn good at them too! Lately he has also been really in to playing hide and seek with Red. Red just isn't very good at finding him! He also loves to hide when he hears daddy coming in from work!
Fun sayings: He always answers "Yes" or "No" and never says "Yeah" to answer a question. He likes to ask every morning where Daddy is when he wakes up. He often wakes up by yelling "Mommy...Grapes!" or "Mommy...Cereal!" or "Mommy...Waffles!" Whatever he wants for breakfast, he let's it be known! When he doesn't understand something he says "Huh?" in the funniest little voice. If we give him options between two things or if I ask him what he wants for dinner he'll say "Ummm..." as if he's taking some time to think about it. It's so cute! Typically when we ask him what he wants for dinner he always says "ketchup!" He loves to say "Look at me!" when he does something funny or wants to show us what he's up to. He also is very good at saying Please, Thank You, I'm Sorry, Excuse You, Bless You, and You're Welcome. This week I asked him who his best friend was and he proudly responded "Daddy!" :) There are so many more great things he says, but I just can't think of them all right now!
Favorite learning activities: He knows his shapes pretty well and can do the shape sorter very easily. He is also getting very good at putting puzzles together with no help at all. He knows the color blue and brown but struggles with the others still. He will repeat them after I say them and show him them but still can't quite connect them. He knows the letters E and O and I'm sure a few others, but doesn't show a ton of interest in the alphabet either...he's just too busy to sit and learn! He counts to 3 without help easily and I don't think we're far off from him counting higher...he just always wants to start over at one! haha. He can sing Twinkle Twinkle pretty good, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Ring around the Rosie, and the beginning of the ABC's.
Size of clothes they are wearing: 24 month and 2T
Shoe Size: 6
Potty Trained?: He's telling us when he has to go #2 but still doesn't show interest in sitting on the potty. He also tells us when he needs his diaper changed and does not like going #2 in front of people, he hides behind the couch or goes to his room. I know it's not far away, but I'm thinking we may wait until after baby sister comes so we don't have to re-train when he digresses with her arrival.
Overall, we have an awesome little two year old. There are moments of tantrums that can really test us, but more than anything, he is the greatest little kid and we love him to death. He's so much fun, laughs and has fun so often and makes US laugh and have fun too. We are really looking forward to all that this year has in store for us...especially watching him continue to learn and grow!
The birthday post is to come...I'll get it done this weekend! :)
