On Dec. 30th, after our Christmas vacation, we rearranged Emery's room and set up his big boy bed! The crib is now all ready to go for our little lady and Emery is very proud of his new bed. We were lucky to receive a toddler bed from Shirley, the lady that works for my mom and dad. It's in excellent condition and is the perfect size for our little pip squeak, Em. :) He's still too little for a twin bed, but ready to move out of the crib...so this transition bed is ideal.
The mattress is on!
Emery had fun setting up his new bed and getting his old crib ready for his baby sister. He took a great nap and slept perfect in his big boy bed the first night. We were shocked that the transition was that easy. Yesterday (day two), he only took an hour nap. That was a little rough, but at least he got some rest. Last night he went to bed very easily. At about 11 PM, he must have had a little bad dream because he cried for me. I think he tried to get out of bed and ended up falling out, but after a hug from Mommy and getting tucked back in he slept the rest of the night without a peep. He just finished an 1 1 /2 hr nap and when I laid him down he crawled right in himself and we read a book while he was laying in bed. That might be something new we'll have to start doing...he seemed to really like it instead of reading in the chair and then going to bed.
Trying it out for the first time!
Overall, it's been a very easy transition. He was more than ready and willing to move to his cool new bed. He loves it. I'm so proud of him but have mixed emotions because, once again, it's one more little thing that was keeping him my baby. The only thing left for him to be a real big boy is to potty train!

The room rearranged to make room for two kids!
Now we just have to decide if we want to paint the walls!
First nap in his big boy bed!
We love you, Emery! You're doing an awesome job in your big boy bed! We're so glad you love it!
