Independence Day weekend

We had a great time over the 4th of July weekend!  On July 3rd we took our first trip back to Osage City since Elle has been born.  It was exciting to take her and she did pretty well on her first long car trip!

When we arrived, Emery, Patrick, and Grandpa Willie took Emery to the golf course for his first time golfing.  He loved every minute of it.  I told Patrick to capture it all with photos since I couldn't be there and he did a great job documenting it!  Emery has been talking about golfing and going again a lot since they went.  We're planning to take him again when we are back in Osage City for our 10 year class reunion in a few weeks.

Another first for Emery (and Elle) on the 3rd...fishing!  We went out to Patrick's family's land and enjoyed a nice time fishing that afternoon after Emery woke from his nap.  Emery even caught a fish all by himself!  Well, Grandpa Willie helped a bit. :)

Uncle Jake and his girlfriend Laura were there to enjoy the day too, and it was his first time meeting Elle.  They brought her a beautiful blanket made by Laura's mom, and a fun new kite for Emery, which was a first for Emery, too!

On July 4th we spent the day here in Wichita as a family.  We ate donuts for breakfast (complete with Red, White, and Blue sprinkles for Emery), went to the park to fly Emery's new kite, and shot off fireworks at home.  After the kids were asleep in bed, Patrick and I went outside to watch a free fireworks show from all directions!  It was a fun day!
